OVERVIEW: My laboratory studies principles of neural circuit function and malfunction during disease states. We focus on visual perception, as well as on circuit abnormalities that manifest in autism, epilepsy, and stroke. Tools we employ range from 2-photon imaging and optogenetics to classical electrophysiology and functional magnetic resonance imaging.

Our work has received support from NEI, NINDS, HHMI, Simons Foundation, DoD, March of Dimes, Veterans Administration, Dana Foundation, and Niarchos Diaspora Program
